Field Of Hats - Ancillaries

This is my christmas present to you all... Because its just too amazing. Very little known Drone group (or is it just one person?) released this 2xCS this year, and its hands down one of the best of 2008. Highly recommended to all, for fans of Emeralds and Glass Organ.
Grab it, shove it on, and LISTEN!

Barn Owl - Bridge to the clouds

Heres a great Barn Owl CDR.. If you havent heard this dude (or dudes?) i strongly recommend. "A perpetual light.." was definitely one of the best records this year.
Enjoy!

Big Trouble In Little China OST

This is probably my favourite Carpenter soundtrack. Total creepy-synth weirdness groove.
Ignore the first cheesy track, the rest is pure gold!
PS: Listen to Lasers from atlantis - My band who happen to releasing early next year..

Cloaven Cassettes #3

Sorry for the lack of updates! University did beckon..
Anyway, here are some more Cloavens.

Cover Up Your Right To Live
Entirely covers album, all naturally with a Sun City twist.

Fresh Kill Of A Cape Hunting Dog
Probably one of the most experimental SCG releases.

Enjoy, and leave a comment!

Eddy Detroit - Philosophers Journey

..Here it is.
As promised, is the unbelievably rare last album by Eddy Detroit. I would like to that 'thrillcode' for this awesome rip. If im going to be honest, i really wasnt impressed with this, and none of Eddys other albums live up to the awesomeness that is Immortal Gods. A shame, but definitely worth the listen and a massive collectors item. Enjoy.
Next week, more Cloaven Cassettes, i promise..

Robedoor - Grey Gates

Now, im not the biggest Robedoor fan, but out of their hundreds on releases there are some real gems. This short 3" release is pretty awesome, and although it has the same doom drone atmospherics, escapes their formula or quiet to deafening. Enjoy.. And i may post some more Robedoor later on!

PS: I thought i might switch to megaupload, as speeds are generally faster than Mediafire.. What do you think?

The Skaters - Physicalities of the Sensibilities of Ingrediential Stairways

If im going to be honest, this isnt the most interesting Skaters release overall. However it does have some great tracks, namely the first and the last. Plenty of the same Skaters charm to be found here, but it doesnt match the latest batch of Ferraro releases! Enjoy this either way.

Pascals - Live In Bremmen

Now, you've probably never heard of Pascals.. But im sure you'll like em. An awesome mini avant-orchestra from Japan, made up of toy pianos, accordions, melodicas and the likes. Full of child-like melodies and whimsical rhythms. This is a soundboard quality recording, and its a great introduction. Enjoy

Cloaven Cassettes Vol. 2

Im Back! Weekly updates will now resume :-)
Now to continue with the SCG series... Both of these gems are from 1987

Hatchet Rain
One of the better quality Cloaven Cassettes. Studio recorded, and full of great renditions of SCG classics, aswell as many other jamz.

Famous Asthma
Just enjoy this one.. Its pretty nuts.

PS; I would like to point you over to this location, where take-your-shoes-off have kindly posted (almost) all the recent Ferraro (of Skaters) CDRs!

K2 (James Ferraro) - Encino Man

This is the brand new release (that i literally picked up today) from James Ferraro's Skaters side project, K2. Its alot more instrumental and 'musical' than other projects, and slightly less droney, if you know what i mean. Either way, its awesome, and i recommend it to you all. Enjoy.
PS, leave comments!
PPS, This is in .wma, sorry! Easily convertible though. Atleast its not m4a, right?

John Zorn - Impressions Of Africa

Before any requests come through, i thought id post this gem for the true fans of experimental music. A real rare live Zorn recording, a must for Zorn scholars! No artwork for this one but enjoy anyway.
Please note the file says [shn] but i have encoded it to MP3 for ease of listening.

Vampire Belt - Moth Lake

Relentlessly brutal improv from Vampire Belt, featuring the ever innovative Chris Corsano.
Not for the faint of heart.

No-Neck Blues Band - First Kingdom Of The Ghost

Next to Qvaris, this is one of my all time favourite NNCK records. Clattering cymbals and ritualistic howling create a great eerie vibe here. Sorta reminded me of Sun City Girls upon first hearing. Enjoy!
